Laughter and Tears (pg.11)

When people laugh or cry.  Those are the moments when all of their masks come off, and you get to see who they are when they are not putting up a front. How special are those moments in life when other people move you to either laugh or cry. And if you are fortunate enough. Sometimes one after the other, or both at the same time.

The question of whether or not life is a tragedy or a comedy is irrelevant. Since human life for all intents and purposes is a tragic comedy. Magneto of the Marvel Comics Universe felt that it was only when he was enraged that he could unleash his most potent of power. It was not until Professor X corrected him by saying that the greatest power comes from the point in between rage and serenity.

A long time ago in India. A young man achieved enlightenment when he heard a musician say that a string that is too tight will snap, and a string that is too loose will not play. It is in that duality of laughter and tears, happiness and sadness. That people will find their greatness, as well as the greatness of those around them.

Everything that has a beginning, also has an end. Mountains are formed and will one day crumble, oceans are filled and will one day dry, stars coalesce and will one day explode into oblivion. If the universe follows this rule of creation and destruction. Then why shouldn't people with their positive and negative circumstances and emotions?

It is impossible to be happy forever. Likewise, it is also impossible to be sad forever.
