Once upon a time a Long time ago in a land that time Forgot. I was eating a bag of Lay's brand Salt and Vinegar potato chips. As I was eating the crispy slices of potato. I contemplated to myself, "certainly there are chips out there that can provide me with enhanced texture, chips that will provide me with a Crunch as opposed to a Crisp."
And so my journey began. I went to the market and searched both high and low for these mystical Crunchy chips. When I stumbled upon a bag with Red and White stripes. "Interesting looking bag of chips," I thought to myself. So I grabbed the bag and proceeded to read the back.
It stated:
"Tim's has been creating our famous chips in the shadow of the Cascade Mountain range since 1986 using an old family recipe. By starting with premium potatoes direct from family owned farms and only the finest blends of real seasonings, we think you'll agree that you have discovered what you have been looking for from your first satisfying crunch.
Just like the mountains that surround us, we have risen to the challenge of creating great tasting snacks. We have proven that a chip crunches louder, tastes superior and satisfies better when it is prepared by people who take pride in a well made snack. Our products are still created one batch at a time. And as always - NO TRANS FATS! Many people have told us that Tim's creates the best snacks anywhere. We believe once you've tried them, you'll agree.
Thank you for buying our products.
-- from all of us at Tim's"
"Hmm, impressive," I thought. This organization believes in their product so much. That they compare their rise to the challenge of creating such an excellent chip to the rising of the cascade mountains themselves.
Naturally the next logical step would be to purchase these chips that have "proven that a chip crunches louder, tastes superior and satisfies better when it is prepared by people who take pride in a well made snack."
I then eagerly approached the merchant with the chips and the money in hand. I received my change and proceeded back to my tower.
With great anticipation I take a moment to examine the packaging one more time. Taking note of the aesthetic appeal of the red and white stripes as they provided a contrast for the blue ribbon that stated "Sea Salt & Vinegar."
Not being able to resist any longer. I tore open the bag and took a wiff of the pleasant aroma that radiated from its foil packaging. The smell was robust. The fragrance of the sea salt conjured up images of the timeless ocean. The ocean which has no sense of past or future. The perfume of the vinegar penetrated my nostrils, and gave rise to thoughts of a tantalizingly tangy experience that lay just a moment ahead.
I very carefully grabbed a single chip and brought it up to my lips. With one bite I devoured the Crunchy Morsel. The flavor, the taste, the texture, the golden brown color, and the fragrant perfume saturated all of my senses at once. Sending me on a voyage of culinary delight. With each chip crunchier and more flavorful than the previous chip before it. I eventually consumed the rest of the bag.
As I disposed of the empty chip container. I exclaimed, "those chips... were toooo gooood!"
